Microwave Oven Repair Guide

Several causes of microwave shut down that are listed below.

Burst Fuse

A burst main fuse is the most frequent reason for a microwave not functioning at all. When too much power passes through the primary fuse of the microwave, it will shut off. When this occurs, the fuse is said to have “blown,” and a replacement fuse must be installed before the microwave may function again.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the microwave oven when you start testing.
  • Unplug the appliance’s thermoreceptor or breaker.
  • Adjust the multimeter’s “Ohms of resistance” dial to its minimum level.
  • Connect the device’s black wire with one of the connections and red wire to the other.
  • The part has high conductivity if the meter indicates 0 Ohms of resistance; otherwise, it fails continuity, which indicates that the burst fuse has to be changed.
  • Be aware that a broken door handle is frequently the source of a burst fuse.

Microwave Not Rotating

The fundamental and simplest cause to address is a blocked track. Under your microwave plate, a track contains a rolling control and coupling that rotate. Your platter may stop turning or have a choppy halt spinning that fails to uniformly cook the food if particles, spillage, or other impediments hinder their circular path.

Examine the blade and couplings below by removing the microwave plate. Check to see whether there are any obvious food crumbs impeding the rotation of each one separately.

Clean the interior of your oven carefully, giving close attention to the rolling track and the vicinity of the coupling. Clean the area surrounding the coupler to remove any gummy buildup. The coupling has electronic parts; need not wet it.

Rotating motor failure

The rotating motor is the only remaining choice if your microwaves is spotless, the guide is in good condition, and the coupling is securely in place. The component that generates the rotating force is the one that is situated beneath the coupling. Since motors are electrically working things, they do eventually deteriorate.

Microwave motor replacement is a relatively frequent repair. Motor failure manifests as fading and sputtering out. However, if it burned out your oven motor, it may stop working right away.

Your microwave’s rotation will slow gradually once the motor runs out, become erratic, and gradually die out. Or you can see a spin friction occurrence that seriously harms the motor. You may check the voltage difference through the spinning motor if you are comfortable using gadgets and a multimeter.

Check continuity with a multimeter.

  • To unscrew the microwave’s rear, use a screwdriver.
  • Push the socket to separate the wiring harness, and then remove the bottom panel.
  • Now the spinning motor cables’ terminals can be removed with a screwdriver.
  • Check for continuation by connecting the multimeter’s leads to the motor’s leads.
  • If there’s no contact, the motor might need to be changed.
  • If there is connectivity, there may be another explanation if so.

Solution:

Your turntable’s motor needs to be replaced. There is a strong likelihood that your spinning motor is the issue if you aren’t equipped with a multimeter and the other three possibilities aren’t the issue. In the middle of the oven’s base, beneath the coupling, lies the spinning motor. You need to change the motor to fix the rotating issue.

Microwave Repair Service

The internal circuit may be destroyed if the issue persists after the fuses and motor have been changed. This issue typically arises after a power failure, and if you don’t have inverters fitted, the energy surge’s magnitude may destroy your circuits.

Heads up: Don’t try to repair the internal circuits by yourself. Until you are a specialist yourself, it is doubtful that you’ll be capable of fixing the microwave oven. The steps shared in the above microwave repair guide can be difficult for a normal person to understand and fix the oven.
